P.J. clipping dated 1942: The death of Mrs. Agnes Hearn Cheney, 86, resident of Kiantone, occurred at her home Monday at 5:15 a.m. following an illness of two weeks.
Mrs. Cheney, the widow of Mark E. Cheney, was born in Dover, England, Sept. 29, 1855, and came to this country as a young girl.
She had been an active member of the Kiantone Congregational Church for 69 years, a member of the Ladies' Aid Society and Union Grange, and had resided on a farm in Kiantone for 70 years.
Surviving are a son, Lewis H. Cheney; a daughter, Mrs. Otis L. Brustrom; a stepson, Henry Cheney, East Randolph; three sisters, Miss Kathleen A. Hearn and Mrs. Alfred W. Saville, Lincoln, Neb.; and Mrs. Delmer West, Milford, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Gail Waite, Lewis H. Cheney Jr., Henry Cheney and Miss Margaret R. Brustrom, all of Kiantone, Miss Agnes K. Brustrom, New York City, Mrs. Samuel Enright Jr, Rochester, and Private Lawrence M. Brustrom, United States Army Air Force, Blithleyville, Ark.; a great grandson, Mark E., Cheney Jr., of Kiantone.
The remains are at the Henderson & Lincoln Chapel until Thursday morning when they will be taken to the home. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday at 2 p.m., with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kiantone. Rev. Dennis D. Bouman will officiate.
