Hello All
We have some Australian researchers staying here - only overnight.
They are researching IBBOTON (from the Aysgarth area) & PICKERING (from the
Pickering area)
The only information they have is John Ibbotson born in Burton 1760 and
married
Elizabeth Moore on July 2 1781 in Aysgarth.
Their children were Christopher born c1782 and George b c1790 both in
Aysgarth. George was transported to Australia in 1817 for stealing a horse.
He married Mary McAllister in Australia and their daughter Mary married
George PICKERING whose father Gowan Pickering (from Lockton near Pickering)
had been transported for stealing 3 sheep in 1814.
Is anyone tracing either of these families or can offer any help?
Kind regards
Brenda
